Set in a beautiful countryside location and run by some amazingly informative and friendly people. The team share all the duties required to run this place which is lovely to see and they are all so helpful and friendly. They love their work and it shows. This alone should encourage you to visit! Although smaller than Fishborne, I think the mosaics were more intact. The place could benefit from an injection of cash to bring the facilities up to date but as a private concern they have done so well to preserve what is there.

I am a Co-Leader of a local group of Young Archaeologists and would highly recommend a visit to the family-run Bignor Roman Villa. We had arranged a guided tour and Lisa Tupper completely engaged the group (age range 8 - 16, plus parents) and even involved the young people in explaining some of the extraordinary mosaics. We couldn't have been... More

Went along for a spontaneous trip with the kids- 7 and 5 yr olds. The most impressive part were the mosaics as there are several. Feels a bit like a tardis as the display areas are bigger than they look from the outside. Limited onsite catering so bring a picnic and enjoy the scenery.

A bit of background, my wife is a primary school teacher and she is taking a group of her kids to visit these remains of a Roman villa. The rules are that she must perform a Health and Safety assessment ahead of the trip so on Saturday morning she asked me if I would keep her company on the drive... More

The roman villa has some fascinating artefacts on display and you can see some original mosaics which are honestly so amazing. It's quite small so you could fit something else into your day aswell. It's all covered so perfect for rainy days! I'd also recommend stopping for some cake in the little tearoom!

Small Roman villa set in superb countryside. Some wonderful mosaics and great information. Small tea room. Great value at only £6 entry fee but wont take too long to walk round.

A good site with some wonderful mosaics. It’s all undercover, so both you and the archaeology are kept dry. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The owners have done a great job with limited funding. Whilst not as big as Fishbourne it is a must for the local history trail. There is a basic café on site and parking... More
