Beautiful waterfall on a quaint island

It is definitely worth the trip and the hike up the mountain to see the waterfall. One tip... do not pay for the water taxi at the marina. Simply walk out to the end of the dock... read more

If you end up in PV make sure you take a water taxi to Yelapa to see the waterfall. It is quite beautiful. A guide will take you to see it and back down. It is clean and refreshing and the town is pristine with no cars, dirt paths, and it is away from the buzz of PV.

long walk and then a nice refreshing swim in cool water form the waterfalls. There is ususally only a couple there, if any. One of my best memories of 10 days in Yelapa

We hired horses and a guide to take us out to the waterfall. The trip itself was so fun as we had not been on horses in a while and it was a steep and rocky ride at times. It's a nice way to see more of the area as well. The waterfall itself was nothing to write home about... More

It is definitely worth the trip and the hike up the mountain to see the waterfall. One tip... do not pay for the water taxi at the marina. Simply walk out to the end of the dock, and when the water taxi comes pay them directly. Also, be sure to ask about the return times for the water taxi's. After... More

This was well worth the hike to see and experience. I'm glad we were with someone who knew where they were going!

Tiny little village that, I would guess, is supported completely by tourism. Waterfall is not all that impressive. Looking at some of the stuff being sold, I can't imagine that it's all locally crafted...if it is, they have some amazingly consistent artists. The beach was amazing, though...and the local restaurants were insanely cheap.

I thought the concierge at my hotel booked me on a whale watching tour, but I wasn't too disappointed once I made it to Yelapa after not seeing any whales. This mountain village set in the hills of Yelapa was an amazing adventure. Hiking to the falls through the village was a sobering event. There was much to see along... More

We hiked from Majahuitas to the Yelapa waterfalls thru the jungle. It was a very special experience and not too difficult. Our guide collected some passion fruit and let us eat them, as well as other local fruits from the trees and bushes. Getting to the waterfall and bathing in the pool was very rewarding.

The waterfall is not what it used to be. Definitively rent the horse it's worthwhile. The horse ride is relaxing and refreshing once you hear the running water.

This is the closer, smaller waterfall to Yelapa. The walk up is on a paved path and not particularly steep. Along the way you get to see some jungle as well as some unfortunately dilapidated structures, but the falls themselves are quite pretty.
