This is an amazing museum which my wife and I were taken aback by during our recent visit to the region. Entry is for a modest fee and well worth the money. If you have the time you could spend a day slowly wandering and marvelling at the array of exhibits on display. Once you pay your entry you are... More

Wow! There's so much stuff here. You can spend hours looking through the huge number of items on display. For oldies, you'll delight in finding so many things from your childhood and for the not so old, you may be surprised to learn how things were done way back when ( and sometimes, not so "way back ") A must... A huge collection of historic artefacts showing the social and technical developments through the past couple of centuries. Friendly and helpful staff made our experience very enjoyable.

It certainly lives up to its advertised “Established in 1962, the Gulgong Pioneers Museum is home to one of the finest collections of Australiana in the country.” It is run wholly by volunteers who have arranged all the objects in amazing collections (little rooms, tableaux) and have done a great job. Highly recommended for a visit.

When you enter the Pioneer's Museum, it looks like a small room full of old equipment. But when you start exploring, you quickly discover that it is a sprawling, labyrinthine complex stuffed full of memorabilia, photos, old equipment, stories, and fascinating displays. On one had it is a bit overwhelming in it's size, as it feels like every attic, basement,... More

This museum is run by volunteers and it is a credit to them. There are a huge number of exhibits which are carefully arranged in different sections and all extremely interesting. The range of exhibits extends from farming implements and machinery to telephone exchanges, radios, television receivers and video recording equipment. There are also rooms devoted to such things as... More
