Compact Gaol, hard to imagine the harsh conditions of the inmates. Would be a great spot for a ghost tour (not sure if they do them). Tip: Bring insect spray to country areas in the warmer months.

A gaol that is well preserved from yesteryear. Lots of photos and descriptions on walls and lots of articles from the era on display. Shows how tough conditions were 100+ years ago. No toilets on site as gaol was not plumbed in that era, toilets are a 2mi walk across road.

This is an authentic piece of history as this gaol is largely untouched and still standing 100 years after it was built. I do not think that I would have liked to be incarcerated here given the austere surroundings and the cramped conditions, particularly if you were gaoled for drunkenness. Well worth a visit. PS Some interesting antiques for sale... More

As you walked around and adsorb the history you could feel what it would have been like back in the day

Interesting museum located in the Old Wentworth Gaol. Well restored prison from colonial days Interesting displays about life in the gaol, stories about bushrangers and history of the local area.

Well preserved and maintained piece of history. We visited on a short stay and pleasantly surprised. A few rooms of old memorabilia to view and purchase. A number of rooms of gaol to view. Read the history to do real justice.

We had an interesting time at the old Wentworth gaol. It is very small and there are only really 3 buildings to look at, but there are lots of signs around to read to get an insight into the past. The cells are creepy, even more because of the shabby looking mannequins in some of them. If the ghosts don't... More

Went for a drive to Wentworth from Mildura to see the Wentworth Goal. The displays on the stories about the policeman and the "residents" of the goal were very interesting to read. There are some mock displays setup in the cells - wouldn't want to be in goal there in those days. There was even a separate section for women... More
