About
Devils@Cradle is a unique Tasmanian conservation sanctuary located at the entrance to the spectacular World Heritage listed Cradle Mountain National Park. Whilst we concentrate primarily on the Tasmanian devil, the sanctuary is also home to the closely related Spotted-tail and Eastern quolls. Tasmania’s three largest carnivorous marsupials are all now threatened in one way or another in the wild. Visitors to the sanctuary can view these animals from the comfort of the visitor centre, wander through the sanctuary at their leisure, or join a personalised guided tour which ensures a close up encounter with our animals. Your visit will provide an insight into the daily operation of a working conservation facility for one of the world’s iconic animals, knowing your ticket fee is contributing to our conservation of these species.

It was a 75 minute tour of the enclosures with our guide providing interesting details about the Tasmanian Devils, how they develop into adults, their behaviour and the reasons why they are endangered. It was fascinating to watch the animals tussle when they were provided with their food. The guide spoke passionately about the work of the sanctuary and its role in breeding healthy specimens which will in the future be returned to the wild once an effective vaccine has been widely used in the wild population. Later in the tour we viewed Quolls being fed - much more endangered but not so much in the public consciousness. We learned a lot from the tour - it was a very worthwhile excursion to learn so much more about Tasmanian fauna,

Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou . This tour was the highlight of our whole 3 weeks in tassie. You have to go to cradle mountain even if it’s just for this tour alone .Everything about the tour was amazing . Our tour guide can’t remember his name (sorry ) was amazing . He was so informative about the tassie devils and quols he was happy to answer all our questions and you can tell the love he has for the animals too . We got to pat a Joey tassie devil , watch the tassies feed and get super close . There was also a wood fire and yummy tassie treats for us to taste . Thankyou so much devils @cradle all the work you guys do is Amazing

Devils@Cradle was one of the highlights of our trip to Tassie.
We weren’t sure what to expect when we walked in the door but were pleasantly surprised by how well it was done.
We did the 5.30pm feeding tour, which was really interesting and informative. The keeper had lots of great facts and time for questions from the audience.
It was really special to see these unique endangered animals up close.

Rory was well informed, clear in explanation and personable. He had a good understanding of issues relating to native animals without being a sensationalist.

We were super impressed with the Devils After Dark experience. Watching the different animals feed, having an experienced guide provide interesting information and experiencing the true cold of Cradle Mountain really sums up our night here. This tour is highly recommended.

It was really nice to learn about our amazing animals from people who seem to devote themselves to their upbringing and existence.
We are a family of four -2 adults, 1 teen and 1 child-and all of us really got a lot out of the tour.

On a rainy day, we were educated and entertained by our tour guide Prue - About the different quolls here in Tassie and of course the devils and their nasty facial rumour disease.

Compared to other wildlife sanctuaries that offer “devil feeding tours”, I would recommend Devils at Cradle over any others.

I purchased a few small goodies from their gift shop as I love supporting animals in need and local businesses. Highly recommend everyone to see the devils feed, day or night - we saw them during the day and it was fantastic hearing and seeing the little critters “scream” for food.
