Love everything about this mountain. It can be a summer beauty with views of waterfalls. Or it can be a winter wonderland depending on the season. Especially beautiful in the snow when u can take the family for a snowfight, Then chill out in the brickhouse with a fire burning and roast marshmallows to warm yourselves back up and ease... More

Sign postings regarding return time of walk were accurate even with time at the location to take pics. The information boards were interesting and the scenery was awesome! We went to the lake too. It was to the same high standard. We encountered no other people on either walk. Highly recommended!!!

There are great walks, we chose the shorter ones. 40min return to beautiful Lake Osbourne, 20min return to Arve Falls and of course the 5 min return to Waratah lookout. Well formed paths to all these. The walk to Arve falls was particularly interesting as it followed the boarder between snow gum and Heath like alpine herbfield. Rolling misty cloud... More

A fit person in good weather will take at least 1.5 hours from the car park to the top. Allow time to stop at the tarns on the way up. The last half hour is difficult in windy weather. Magnificent views.

The road in to the visitor centre is awful but persevere it's worth it. Pristine bush, animals, birds and a treetop walk, wonderful. Going back to do the bush walk soon.

What an overlooked Tassie walk! Loved every minute of this walk, even though the cloud was low and visibility was minimal. The walk passes through some stunning scenery, mountain tarns, moorlands, rocky peaks. A relatively easy hike, and well worth climbing to the peak even if it's in cloud. The view must be amazing on a clear day.

We spent two days hiking in the Hartz Mountains, and even though one of those days it was pouring rain and the wind was blowing incredibly hard, we still have a wonderful time because the area is so beautiful! The trails are clearly marked so you cannot get lost. If you enjoy hiking in places where you get wonderful views... More

The bush walk to Mt. Hartz is beautiful and easy to walk. From the car park you walk along a wooden path from were you can see the mountain through the whole walk. Along the path you walk by a little lake which is surrounded by mountain walls. Later you will have to climb up a little to the first... More
