Adored Brickendon - well worth the visit if you are passing. Some beautiful architecture, the style of some of it was totally unexpected and very European. What an insight into the lives of our forebears.

The village farm is a working farm with an amazing history. Part of the Archer family story which includes the Woolmer Estate. Definitely worth a visit. Fantastic historic buildings.

We visited Brickendon Colonial Farm Village to attend the wedding of our friends. What a delightful setting for a wedding. The ceremony was in the courtyard and the reception in the barn. We walked around some of the historic buildings on the property, so much history, great to see the original builds have been preserved. Some of the wedding party... More

I was lucky enough to have stayed in Pumpkin Cottage as good friends had planned their wedding here and not in Brisbane their hometown... Awesome character buildings and the animals were a hit...

Close to Launceston Brickendon Colonial Farm Village is a must see. The 20 minute video on entry is most worthwhile setting the tone for your self paced tour. The brochure is very informative & easy to follow. Attractions are numbered & described on a plaque at each location. The buildings are marvellous with some still in use as this is... More

Very personable approach to the whole settlers and convicts story as the property is still owned by the descendants of the original settler family! I loved the fact that it was self guided and that they had lots of artefacts and details. In one of the buildings, the signs list some of the convicts who worked on the farm -... More

The farm contains original 19th century buildings that give a good sense of farm life in the past. Members of the Archer family - which has occupied the farm continuously for 7 generations - are on hand to answer questions. Be sure to watch the DVD presentation to gain a full appreciation of the history. The gardens of the main... More

We visited at the end of winter, so not many people here. The leaflets for the self guided tour were well done and informative, as were the snippets of info found at individual sites. Two of our group had been here for a wedding reception a few years ago and still talk about how wonderful it was for that event... More

Convict labourers helped build and run this property. Interesting old farm buildings, especially the barns, Chapel and Blacksmiths.

This place is a credit to the family. It is fantastic to see so much of the early farm preserved and open to the public. As modern day farm owners, our children enjoyed seeing the village it took to run a property. The grounds are well preserved and you can get a real feel for how this farm operated.
