Worth the drive amazing experience
Nov 2021
Worth the drive to see this hidden gem. You may have to wait for a tour as numbers are restricted due covid but we did visit on a Sunday.
Ticket office staff so friendly and informative and then we had Gail as a guide who was more than amazing and so knowledgeable and passionate about her job. Please tell the guides if you have any concerns about going in the cave they will support and inform you and keep checking on welfare.
Safety was number one for them and the showing you an amazing experience.

Well worth a visit
Nov 2021
We booked a tour first thing in the morning and ended up having it to ourselves - a private tour! It's worth visiting both the Marakoopa and King Solomons caves as they are different and both packed with beautiful formations. We loved hearing about and seeing the creatures in the caves like the glow worms and a cave spider! Sue and Angela were great guides and made us feel really welcome.

Awesome caves!

The caves are awesome!
Tour guide was also very good!
A bit more could be done to present the historical details a bit better. In particular of the family who discovered the caves and the actual cave formation process.

Very good and ok for older visitors
Sep 2021
My wife and I visited the caves and enjoyed the two tours we did. Our guide, Ranger Shannon, was friendly and engaging and had plenty of interesting things to tell us about the caves.

Being an older visitor, and with a bit of a bung knee, I was a little unsure how I would go with the hundreds of stairs to be negotiated on the was in and out - but found them to be in good condition and easy enough to traverse.

We failed to book ahead so were not able to visit King Solomons cave at a suitable time that day so will be sure to go back one day to see it as well.

Underground Rivers and Glow-worms Tour
Apr 2021
There are 3 cave tours in this area, 2 at Mole Creek and 1 more at King Solomons down the road. If you plan this and book ahead, you can do the 2 tours at Mole Creek back to back, then drive to King Solomons for the last tour.

Each tour offers something different, but the 2 tours at Marakoopa Cave both pass through the Glow Worm entrance before branching off

We did the Marakoopa Cave tour. Dave was our tour guide, he was very friendly, professional & informative. The cave was sensational, easy walking & we really enjoyed it. Other staff in the ticket office were also very helpful with other local information.

Lovely tour guide
Jun 2021
Our guide was so incredible and definitely made the tour of the caves even more amazing. She was such a beautiful person, so thoughtful when making sure a little girl was ok with the dark and also taking the time to get to know all the group members. This was the same lady I had made contact with when booking the tour over the phone and she even remembered me from the phone call. So very personable yet gentle at the same time. The world needs more genuine people like Mara. Thank you so very much for having us.

Massive caves with Extras
Jun 2021
Really cool caves, and very big. Having done other cave tours in NZ and SA the Mole Creek (Marakoopa Cathedral tour) was on another level of scope and size. These caves were also very varied in what they had on offer, they're were the 'curtain' type the straws, black from bushfire smoke travelling through, glow worms and Cave Spiders that looked a bit like giant daddy long legs.

They advise it's a 60M climb up 230ish stairs but they have rails on both sides most of the way - I'm far from fit and made it up without to much issue.

Interesting caves

Very interesting caves. But what made the tour excellent was the guides. They clearly love their work and it shows in their excellent attitude a very informative commentary.
