If you cannot face a 5 hour walk - make the effort to visit the Shipsternl Lookout (and Cape Raoul Lookout just 200m in the other direction at the fork). Parking is tricky near the start after 12km of rutted unsealed road and the walk is closed on Tuesdays because of maintenance - but aside from those 2 issues the... More

The walk to Shipsterns Bluff is awesome. Track is very well laid out and hard to get lost. The view is spectactular!! I also recommend running this track if you like trail running.

its a decent walk in so be prepared and have water with you. Its worth it if the waves are up! No swell when I went but it was still awesome to check it out. I recommend you goggle some videos when the waves are pumping so you can get a feel for it.

This place is incredible - beautiful and soooo worth it! We pulled into the carpark, there is a 'sauna' and 'toilet' - seeing is believing! Very rustic and creative! The walk in through the forest (national park) took about an hour (slowly), but the view was so worth it - beautiful native foliage, tree stumps so green and 0mossy, but... More

The walk to the cliff tops is wonderful, if a little rough in places. The view over the cliffs has to be seen to be believed at nearly 300m vertical into the Southern Ocean. The walk down to the rock platform is highly recommended - specially if the surf is on. Shippies as it is known has to be one... More

Only thing I would suggest is to make sure you are wearing the appropriate foot wear.. You will need a moderate amount of fitness to complete this hike.

Shipstern Bluff gets its name from the rock formation, It looks a bit like the back of a ship. On a calm day you can walk around the bluff and enjoy the many rock pools and rock formations and even take a dip in the sea. On a day with a heavy swell you get to see surfers risking and... More

Was here on a wet cold and windy summer day Track is rough and uneven with tree roots and rocks, not easy going View at end of trail is stunning If you are capable of a tough walk worth the effort

Us over 60s can't be expected to hike as we use to. We got to the lookout and beyond then the track gets very dangerous least for us, with a steep decline before going on. It looked like you could cross where the decline was but even that was dangerous. Having arguments with gravity before I dug my heels in... More
