This is quite a drive from Burnie, but well worth the time. There are a few levels of walks avail. The paths are gravel with well constructed steps when steep. The views are stunning. On your return trip back you can call into a wildlife park that has Tas Devils.

An easy drive from Ulverstone to Leven Canyon. Take a picnic, then a short stroll to the lookout with great views, or walk to the canyon floor. Stop off at Kaydale Lodge on the return journey for afternoon tea.

Well worth the drive. Great day trip from anywhere on NW Coast of Tasmania. Access to top lookout only a short easy walk. Much longer walks worth doing if you have if you are fit enough.

We went via Ulverstone and Penguin then sounthwards to Leven. What was more memorable was the journey itself. The rolling hills, vast meadows and farmland was a sight to behold. However drivers, do keep your eyes on the road for it is almost like a roller coaster ride with the road sometimes plunging into the "unknown" since you cannot see... More

Go the easy way up unless you want the 697 step challenge. Track is good and view worth the walk. Probably be more spectacular with more water in the river.

This river canyon is one of the best that I've experienced. Once you get to the car park, you have a choice of walks depending on your fitness level. There are two lookouts within reasonably easy walking distances. One of them is about 2.5 hours return. Well maintained tracks and stairs. The return leg is all uphill. But it's well... More

Definitely do the high walk first - going the other way would be murder with around 700 steps to negotiate. As it is the uphill finish is a test of energy although not to steep it is 15 minutes constantly uphill.

One of the best views of a lively river. Big water flow. Many will love this place. Nice 15 minute walk. Good view platform for a picture. Good drive and easy parking. You will be glad you went.

Beautiful area, amazing views once you walk out the edge of the canyon. Try and go on a clear day so you can see for miles. Good walk, ok for prams. Perfect if you want to get out of the busy town and back to nature. Make sure you call into Kaydale lodge for morning tea only about 8 mins... More
