We were on our way to Hocking Hills for an anniversary trip and wanted to do something before we got there. This was a good stop. $6 per person to tour. The downstairs tour is guided but you are on your own upstairs and most of the stuff is up there. Learned some things I hadn't known.

This is a great stop for history lovers! You can learn about General Sherman's childhood and tour his home. The second floor exhibits fill in a lot of details that the guided tour does not touch on. We enjoyed the tour but felt like our guide could have been a little more organized and knowledgeable about the General and his... More

An engaging tour of the General's well-preserved boyhood home revealed where he learned his values and sense of duty which led to his leadership in the Civil War. The flower garden complemented a pleasant visit.

No question the Sherman House Museum was high on our list of central Ohio places to visit. And we did come away with additional knowledge about General Sherman but more thanks to asking questions than to hearing it interestingly offered from our docent. Perhaps it was just an off day. We lingered long in the rooms of memorabilia on the... More

This house brings to life the history of General Sherman's life and family. This is so well done and the exhibits are well done and well explained. Our guide was first rate and very knowledgeable. This is a must see for civil war buffs, of which I am one. In addition the period antiques and family pieces are excellent. So... More

This is a very interesting place to visit if you like history. The birth place of General Sherman is a good place to visit. The tour is cheap to go through and they give you a great history lesson and take you around the house and explain everything there. It is not handicap accessible as there are stairs in the... More

The docents at Sherman House really know their stuff and even those with solid knowledge of civil war will learn things about the war and Sherman. He was a much more complex figure than generally believed. The house itself, that has been added on to several times is also interesting in its own right.

The museum is a fantastic history lesson through the eyes of General Sherman. Many of his wartime and after war memorabilia can be seen in his birthplace home.
