Rented a 2-bedroom cabin with fireplace on a expedition trip to see if this is a place we'd like to stay when visiting our son at Ohio University. The cabins are exceptionally well priced and many have been completely remodeled with plans to remodel all cabins. We arrived on Friday not knowing quite what to expect, but check-in was super... First time visit to Lake Hope. Really enjoyed spending the weekend at a cabin. Neat things to see in the area, such as Hope Furnace and Moonville Tunnel. Nice area and the food at the Lodge is fantastic!

We have been celebrating birthdays each winter in the Iron Furnace cabins for 15+ years, and the remodel looks great! New furniture, beds, bedding, lighting, windows, bathroom flooring, kitchen counters ... too much to mention. These are some of the few State Park cabins with wood burning fireplaces, and they are very cool. Highly recommend visiting, or re-visiting if you... More

I have been here almost every year since college. They have a variety of cabins and campsites too. Great trails and of course Moonville.

The cabins at Lake hope have been updated and refurbed. Beautiful fireplaces heat and air conditioning and even this grown adult didn't mind sleeping in a bunk bed. It has a flat-screen cable TV but we didn't watch much because we sat relaxed play games and watch the fireplace. There's no fancy hot tub but there's no horrendous price. Bring... More

Great place to see historical furnaces, a beautiful lake, hikes, surrounding areas and views! Enjoyed the black type glass; hardened glass coal and photography!

Stayed here over night and will definitely go back. We wanted a tent camping experience where you felt like you were in a park and not in a parking lot and Lake Hope was perfect. Lots of great hiking! The sites were roomy with leveled out (not concrete!) spots for tents, picnic table and a fire ring. The sites were... More

I've stayed in the cabins as well as hiked the trails. A great place to spend a few days just relaxing and enjoying what outdoor Ohio has to offer. A well maintained state park and the new lodge is a spectacular addition.

We stayed at one of the primitive camp sites with no electric, a fire pit and a picnic table. The campground has a good mix of camp sites that are close together and secluded sites. I liked being able to choose our own campsite. Firewood is $5 and by Saturday evening they had nearly run out of firewood, so get... More
