This was a nice beach, but it gets rocky so wear some shoes or water shoes if you go in the water...water was cold until you get used to it then it feels nice - quiet to just sit, watch and relax - free fun...More

We arrived at Headlands Beach about half an hour before sunset. Huge parking lot, big group having a picnic. Walked to the HUGE beach...lots of little groups sitting around, playing frisbee, volleyball, building in the sand. The sign at the entrance to the park said...More

We drove two and a half hours and looked forward to seeing this beach, based on all the good reviews. What a disappointment! Guess we should have waited until summer. Restrooms closed (for repair) signs said. Ports potties disgusting. No running water or drinking water...More

I was working and living in Painesville so I wanted to explore this park. I had often asked myself many questions about the land erosion from being on the lake and land erosion from being snared in the heavy snow belt region with lake effect...More

Yes we came here in April. Not the height of the beach season. We were there for the hobby of rock and glass collecting. We found plenty of each as well as driftwood which we will craft into something fabulous. Will come back here in...More

Wanted to be outside after a day of visiting schools etc. It was a very large beach, supposedly the largest in OH. It must have been a tough winter as there was a large amount of debris on beach, but it was beautiful. Very disappointed...More

this is a great place to take a walk and experience lake erie's wildlife and be with other people. When we were there in the fall, it was not crowded at all even though the weather was lovely.

Headlands beach is one of the best places to spend a day at the beach, have a picnic, take a walk on the beach, and enjoy the awesome sunsets. Should be a must visit in any weather.

it is April 4 today; when will you be opening up the entire parking lot? When will you be picking up the debris?

I am guessing because it is a State facility and the season has not officially opened, it will probably not happen until possibly near the end of this month or maybe early to mid May, buy definitely before Memorial Day... More

There is a path you can walk your dog. However you can't take them onto the beach it self, not on the parks property.
