Beautiful. Serene. Not matter the season, a wonderful place to wind down for the day or have a family picnic. We use Dawes for prom etc pictures. We use the shelters for school functions. Most Peaceful place in Lickinf County.

I was surprised at how big the Arboretum is! The grounds are extensive, the beauty is diverse, and the visitor center is worthwhile. Plenty of beauty at Dawes, enough to see again and again. And it's free! Absolutely worth a visit.

Dawes is a grand resource in Licking County. Many many places to walk, environments to experience, and learning experiences. They provide community groups and training classes with a wide range. There are special events such as maple syrup making.

We really enjoyed walking all the trails, learning the plants that were identified, learning about the Dawes, Green, and other families, the reason for the Japanese garden, the mansion and the cemetery. A wonderful visit!
