More
The Johnston Farm & Indian Agency celebrates 2,000 years of Ohio's rich history from prehistoric Indians to Ohio's canal era. The focal point of the peaceful 200-acre park is John Johnston--farmer, public official, and U.S. Indian Agent for western Ohio from 1812 to 1829. Here Johnston's numerous contributions to the growth of early Ohio and the settlement of frontier America are presented in a truly unique and beautiful setting. Guests may also enjoy a ride aboard the General Harrison of Piqua, a replica 70-foot-long canal boat. Restroom facilities and a gift shop are located in the museum. Open by appointment Mon thru Fri in April, May, September and October. Open to the public 9:30 to 5:00 Thurs/Fri and noon to 5:00 Sat/Sun in June, July, and August.

We had a nice visit at Johnston Farm in Piqua, Ohio. During one visit we had someone take the time to talk to us telling us more about the home even though we attended with a very small group of people.

They have a fantastic little museum that really lets you see how the native Americans lived. Great open spaces for camping, if permitted too.

Johnston Farm can be a chance to step back in time. Very good for a day trip. House and grounds are well maintained. Loved the old canal boat.

Throughout our trip in Ohio, we encountered again and again limited days/hours for attractions. How are people to visit, especially if the hours on the website are outdated or simply wrong? DO call before you visit. We were lucky to get there on a Thursday...More
