This is a little off the beaten path, but well worth the time. Nancy (curator) was very nice, and took a lot of time to explain the various planes at their facility. The hangars are small, but the planes are absolutely beautiful. An inexpensive and fun activity for anyone looking for something different.

The WACO museum is small with two hangers holding all the exhibits, the main exhibits feature WACO planes which are great. They offer an included audio tour that lasts approximately 30 minutes over 15 points of interest. They have an annual fly in in September which looks to draw large crowds. There is a free flight simulator as well. Overall... More

This small museum dedicated mostly to the Waco (rhymes with "taco") planes built before WWII is a must see for local airplane enthusiasts. It is small but the guides are knowledge and on the day we were there he was exclusively our own. It was interesting to the plane-but teen and his father too

There are two small hangers with beautifully restored vintage aircraft and a number of exhibits that cover the early days of aviation, during which the WACO company played an important role. There are a few interactive exhibits [not working the day we visited, however], as well as a factory exhibit to give perspective on how these aircraft were produced. It's... More

Actually we went up in Sept of 2014 but that wasn't an option from the drop down on the review. I'm female, older, and love planes, trains, and automobiles. 1st on my bucket list was a ride in an open cockpit biplane. My daughter went with me and it was worth every penny! She lived about a mile from Waco... More

This is a must visit if you are interested in airplanes or history.. This is good for all ages and some exhibits are hands on. They also have a fly-in and offer Waco Airplane Bi plane rides.... If you are in the area stop it..you can spend 1 hr or 3hrs.

For Waco or Biplane enthusiasts this is a small focused local museum. They have lectures which are really amazing for this small place. All have been very interesting

They offer 15 mins biplane rides a few times a year, well worth it if you want to experience open cockpit flight and see Troy from above.

Had the fun experience of flying in the biplane that arrives to the museum once a month during the summer months. Originally bought a gift certificate for my father for a ride and he enjoyed the ride so much that my sister, mother and I decided to take a ride also. All of the staff were very nice and we... Took a ride on a WACO plane during the Troy Strawberry Festival to get photos for the Troy Area Chamber of Commerce and we pleased with the staff and experience all the way around. Lots of aviation history here. Will definitely visit again soon.
