In past summers my wife and I have been to Haikey Creek Park for cook outs with friends. The park has great cabanas with tables and benches for large groups and nice areas for the kids to play.

Family get together after lunch to keep the celebration going. We walked into little Mexico with Mariachi music blaring. Lots of beer being drank. Kids not being attended to and invading your space.

The walking trail is broken up into 2 trails or 1 trail depending on how long of a walk you desire. Probably 1/3 to 1/4 of the trail is in the shade. You have trees and a small creek near by. Plenty of parking.
