This is a really neat museum. It is a must see for any fan of Route 66. I would say that it is more a museum about the area than about Route 66. They have a little village with local buildings and then one section in the building with Route 66 memorabilia but all in all I very neat museum.... More

We called in to this place from I - 40 and have got to say it was very well sign posted. This place not only exhibits Route 66 but there is a very good history of Elk City. All the staff are pleasant and very helpful, there is a small charge per person but it's more than worth it. I... More

We had some time to kill while our car got fixed and this was the perfect way to do it. There are many exhibits and if you have kids very fun for them.

I expected the museum to be about route 66 only. Instead I saw a museum complex in a beautiful park like setting of several buildings. The Route 66 part of the complex included a 15 minute movie with a historical perspective of the development of transportation and it's leading to the evolution of Route 66 to be America's Mother Road"... This is a do not miss museum complex. We were impressed by the extensive subject mater of this museum. There are actually 4 museums at this location and one entry fee: Transportation Museum, Farm & Ranch Museum, Old Town Museum and the National Route 66 Museum. Each museum is housed in a separate building and they surround an 'Open Air'... More

Such a collection of memorabilia covering more than just Route 66, set out in a village style, many were just 'shopfronts' but looking inside everything was really well set out. The farm part has an amazing number of pieces of equipment. Climbing into the 'caboose' was fun.

Worth a see but not quite what we were expecting. Expected the National Route 66 museum to be a bit bigger and better. There are lots of museums on the route so as this one was advertised as the national route 66 museum we thought there might be a bit more to it. Was still nice to see some of... More

We had very limited time to visit, so we walked quickly through and still saw a lot. This museum complex has a lot of different collections about Oklahoma history. The courtyard was nice to walk around. Mannequins throughout the museum were a little creepy according to my kids. Very inexpensive to visit, so worth a quick stop.

Very friendly ladies ar the entrance . Lots of easy fun. We really enjoyed the history film ( about 15 minutes ). As seniors we only paid $4 each and it was certainly worth it. Would have been more fun if we could go in each building but it was still fun
