This is the best thing to do in the Oklahoma City vicinity. They only have three tours a week and only for 12 people at a time. You must reserve weeks in advance. It is worth it. A fabulous inside tour by a meteorologist of America's only National Weather Center -- where all extreme weather warnings come from. Don't miss... More

It's hard for me to objectively rate the National Weather Center like a tourist, since I'm a meteorologist and have worked there in the past. The public seems to have a fascination with the work meteorologists do, so this building has become somewhat of a Norman attraction. Anyone who appreciates the public service provided by the National Weather Service will... More

We stopped in on a whim and got to walk around the first floor which was very interesting. They do offer tours if you plan ahead, but we were just passing thru and decided to stop

This tour is worth an hour or so of your time! Very informative and interesting. It's free but must be reserved. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The tour highlights include the vehicle bay, observation deck, and the offices located on the second floor. It was really cool to see all the different weather radars and models being used... More

We had a great two hours at the National Weather Center on a recent visit. The tour starts in a room where you can look up your home, street or school on a large screen. That was fun to do. We got to see the meteorologists at work on the tour. We got to see how the weather is forecasted.... More

Five of us really enjoyed our tour. As often, the tour guide makes the difference and our guide, Charles, a graduate student, did a great job of providing info, making it interesting and answering questions. There is not a lot to see, mainly people sitting behind monitors but the explanation of what they are doing, history and other info was most...
