After lunch, a nice place to walk around and see the statues and read about their history. We would recommend on a nice afternoon.

A beautiful, well kept building. Get there before 4:30 pm or be too late for the tour.
There are displays & plaques outside, on the grounds with historical information. Quite interesting.

Absolutely a must see when your in the area. I have been there at least 19 times with my grandmother, my dad, my aunt, brother sister, husband, daughter neice. We never tire of the friendly uninformative ladies who volunteer there. This visit I left my geniology info

I took a group here. The tour guides were very passionate about their history. It’s small and the group divided into 3 groups. There are ramps but not really easy for handicapped. Many older style displays with lots to read.
We enjoyed hearing the stories of the people.

We went for the Chickasaw Festival. This was a great experience and fun for all ages. There was so much to do for the kids and the food trucks were smelling soooo good.

We do genealogy as a hobby. Sent into Ancestry for DNA test kit. Got the results and found my family line is part Chickasaw & Choctaw. I used to do some historical building restoration work during my working career. So a combination of these made this a must stop on our way north. The restoration work is beautifully done. The staff in both the Capital building and the Museum were very friendly and helpful. We will be back. We want to spend more time exploring the area.

Just went on a tour of the Capital building this morning and it was very interesting. It was short and sweet and not a lot of fluff to it. The guides were very knowledgeable and super friendly. I'm Cherokee not Chickasaw and I found it very cool.
