Love seeing this big guy at the Tulsa State Fair each year for at least 25 years....you have to see him at least once in your life. They dress him up sometimes depending on whats going on in the town!

This is not only an iconic symbol of the 918, but was actually adopted by the Oklahoma State legislature in 1979 as the state monument! Another fun fact, in 2006 Kimberly Clark sponsored an online promotional contest and our Golden driller was grand prize winner...More

It's always fun to drop by and see the golden driller! We climbed on top of his shoe and took some pictures. There's also a geocache near by.

I used to live in Tulsa and so I always try to stop by when I'm in town and see if they're doing anything to the driller. He guards plenty of activities at the Tulsa State Fair Grounds facility. If you're there for the fair...More

This was on our list to see on our trip & weren't disappointed. It is one of those quirky things you see all along Rt 66 that have thankfully been preserved. Short stop but worth it.

Visited while driving route 66 we were staying overnight in tulsa but went here before checking in. Plenty of parking. We were the only people here when we went. We took some pictures before heading off.

A trip to Tulsa, especially during the State Fair, isn't fully complete without snapping a couple pics and selfies by the Golden Driller! I'll bet he can whip Ole Tex at the Texas State Fair...

Another cool attraction! Definitely a quick visit/photo op but certainly a worthwhile stop if you're in the area or driving along Route 66!
