A small stop while in Weatherford that gives some general information about wind turbines. The attraction has a blade from an wind turbine that gives you a idea of how massive they really are.

There it some interest in seeing a wind turbine blade up close, to appreciate how large it is, the material (fiberglass), and some of the subtle curve to it. This is near the freeway at least. There is nothing else in the park. The explanation...More

Don't go out of your way, but it was cool to see one the blades up close. Huge!! Quick photo, stretch the legs, and back on the road. There are a few picnic tables in the park if you want to picnic. Free!

I would not drive out of my way to see this, unless you want a close-up look at a windmill blade. One is on display here, with some brief wind energy "posters". There are lots of better reasons to leave the Interstate to see Weatherford,...More

There are a lot of wind turbines that can be seen from I40. How big are they and what are their blades like? A short visit to this city's small park with a wind turbine blade may answer some questions and stir some interest in...More
