The center has a great display explaining life on the Or trail. It's on the National Parks Pass so with the pass it's free, otherwise a bit pricey. The surrounding lands offer great (paved) walking paths that can take most of a day if you want. Note: It's an open area so under the sun it's really hot, in cool... More

The Center is magnificently positioned at the top of Flagstaff Hill with views over the Powder River valley to the Elkhorn Range of the Blue Mountains. In the foreground are excellent remnants of the Oregon Trail. The journey the pioneers made along the Trail is well covered in the imaginative exhibits presented in the Center. There is a good children's... More

The displays in this Interpretive Center are wonderful. There is a lot to look at and read about and there are interactive sections for the younger visitors. The windows overlook the mountain range to the southwest. There is a nice trail to walk out to a viewpoint and a longer part of the trail to take to see the wagon... More

The most direct route back in time to life on the Oregon Trail. Take a stroll, quiet your mind, and listen to what the trail has to share . . . wonderful meditative walk; reconnect with nature.

It has been a while since I have been there, I live in Baker City and it is worth your time to go and see. I understand they have different people come and do different programs during the summer, you would have to check with them to see what is going on. There are several trails, one goes down to... This Interpretive Center exceeded my expectations - not just because of the set-up and in-depth history I was able to learn from the various exhibits and media but also because the building itself is in excellent condition, and the mountain views from the rear windows are spectacular. Had weather permitted, I would have loved to walk around some of the... More

My husband and I are both history buffs and I had heard so many positive things from others about this place. So maybe my expectations were too high but I did not feel like it offered a ton. Our favorite part was the location as it was beautiful and helped give you an idea of the areas that pioneers came... More
