At first I wasn't thrilled about going to a museum, but boy was I wrong. This museum is amazing. They have incredible animals and rotating exhibits. My favorite were the porcupines and the eagles. Highly recommend you stop by. You'll be impressed for sure.

The last time we visited the High Desert Museum was in 2000, and we had fond memories. We spent three hours on this visit and were absolutely enthralled with the temporary Ansel Adams exhibition.

Through the holidays 2016 the museum has an exhibit of @ 40 Ansel Adams photographs. We went specifically to see this exhibit and ended up going through the updated cowboy & Indian replica of living in Oregon. Don't forget to take a look at the stuffed sage grouse and you will understand why they need to be protected, they are... More

There was a lot to see. We got here a bit late and couldn't fit it all in. Initially we were a bit surprised by the admission price, but upon seeing everything that was there... it was well worth it. Science exhibits, wildlife habitats, and historical "full size" diorama or ambient spaces are all here. The quality is very high.... More

We have been here several times with our grandson since he was two. He is four and this is still one of his favorite places. I don't think he will ever outgrow this place. Inside and outside activities keeps everyone interested.

The Ansel Adams Masterworks exhibit is what brought us here this time, but there is always something interesting and informative to see. The Adams show is fabulous, but we enjoyed the Buzzsaw Shark display as well. We also really enjoy seeing the critters like the porcupine, bobcat, fish, turtles and birds. There are outdoor exhibits and trails to walk if... More
