Pop into the Ecola state park on our way home from Cannon Beach and it was lovely. The actual lookout seemed to be closed due to erosion over the winter but you could still enjoy beautiful views of the lighthouse and haystack rock and other rock formations along the beach. We also recognised areas where certain scenes were filmed for... More

This is one of my favorite parks not only in Oregon but the whole world. This is the perfect place to come hike around and see the beautiful Oregon coast line. Unfortunately when we came a lot of the trails down to the beach were closed due to water runoff and damage. It was still a beautiful view though looking... More

Ecola park is great for families or large groups or just singles to picnic and play around. At the edge of Cannon Beach, there is beach access and grass area in the park. BBQ pits and clean.

Beautiful views of the coastline--rock formations, beaches, ocean, & the Tillamook Lighthouse. A short paved but narrow road approx 1.2 miles to the parking lot to the viewpoint. The road was just wide enough for 2 vehicles going up & down but probably wouldn't work for motor homes. When you arrive at the parking lot, the expansive view of lawn,... More

We decided to check out Ecola Park on the way to Cannon Beach. The narrow, crooked road leads you through some residential at first and then into the park. Parking was decent, a couple bathrooms on site and several places for a nice picnic lunch. The view of the ocean is great and you can see Cannon Beach from there... More

A paved narrow road takes you thru the park to several parking areas, there is posted speed limits and everybody seems to take it Easy. There is a big parking lot at Indian w/ bathroom facilities, That where the surfers go, and a couple of other places that you have to walk a bit further, when your in the park... More

There have been a few minor landslides so entrance fees to the park were waved during our visit in January. The road to Indian Beach was closed due to landslides (see Ecola State Park Website for more information).

Ecola State Park is a must see if you are in the area with its breathtaking view of the coast. With all the rock formations forming in the ocean and the rolling mountains in the background and the sea mist giving the view a mystical quality its worth just standing at the picnic tables to take a picture. Unfortunate that... More

At this time of the year some of the roads were closed (so no fees right now) but we went to the overlook which was of course great. Then we did the 2.5 mile RT hike to Crescent Beach. It goes through the forest and somewhat steep going down to the beach. The forest is beautiful and the beach is... More
