The Dexter Lake Club first opened its doors in 1949. It established itself and as a popular cafe, bar and live music venue over the next decades. The large, bright neon sign that sits atop the high roof line is an iconic symbol along highway 58. In fact, the “roadhouse” persona of the Dexter Lake Club is so present, that it was used for filming in scenes of the popular movie Animal House in 1977. Weekly you'll find dedicated Animal House movie fans seeking out this famous landmark to take pictures and remember the movie. The atmosphere is warm and inviting throughout and the staff is friendly and attentive. The cooks prepare hearty meals made from scratch. We have excellent live music at least four nights a week. Visit our events page on our website for details.Come visit us, we'll be your new favorite place!

I eat here all the time and my only complaints are (1) In the spring summer and fall they will sell out of 1/2 of their menu by 6pm (baby backs go first and fast). Which speaks volumes about the quality of the food. (2)...More

Went there out of Nostalgia for the "Animal House" road trip. There were a few nice photos. Liked the pulled pork and flank steak. Give the chicken a miss. bare tables and chairs. OK beer selection.

Went here for lunch. Great burgers and fries for $10 a person pretty much. The lake is in view and the outdoor area is nice to eat and enjoy the view

We are sorry that your experience with us was not in line with the majority. I am the owner who came to your table and was genuinely concerned about the food quality. I would never just automatically assume that a customer's concerns are bogus, with...More

They have recently changed their menu, and NOT for the better. They messed up on four of our orders. The so called Strawberry Lemonade had no strawberries. They refilled our drinks without asking then charged for every refill. The employees were very rude. I'm very...More

Our breakfast was cold when served, but that was the least of the problems. The pancakes were burnt and we had to remind the waitress twice for butter and syrup; when it finally came, even the syrup was cold, and the butter sat on top...More

What a great live band, you guys rock! The food is awesome (love the sweet potato fries) with generous proportions and the staff is very friendly. Can't beat a place that treats you like family. You guys have done a great job renovating the place.
