The history of the Pass

Interesting history we stopped in to ask about rental homes and ended-up walking through the museum, the staff was more than friendly and well informed.

I thought this would be a place that had displays and information of days gone by, put it was more of an informational place for the area not much of a museum in my opinion.

Ok, we were not expecting much but it turned out to be a very interesting and comprehensive museum. Topics range from agroforestry to zoology, with WWII thrown in the mix! The staff was very informative and you can pick up brochures on pretty much all of Orgeon there. Worth the stop!

I cannot remember the name of the lady here who so kindly helped me to figure out the bus schedule to go to somewhere where I could find new hiking boots. You are truly a gem and so so kind, friendly and helpful! I just wish I could remember your name so that I could mention it here, even though... More

Surprisingly good. The visitor center part had a staff member to answer your questions and give out brochures and maps. She gave us good ideas for hikes in the area. There is also the museum part which has a lot about the history of Mt. Hood and the area in general. Upstairs you can see the various mammals that live... More

This was an interesting hodge-podge of local historical interests. It is a low-budget assemblage of fire tower and lodge models, snow ski collection from perhaps the last 100 years, some wildlife exhibits, and other things. I liked it, but I didn't have much time to take it all in. Don't expect anything world class; it is a small-town museum.

Lots of memorabilia about skiing as well as information about the area. Helpful staff-recommended aTrilium Lake hiking trailto us when I asked about an easy hike, relatively flat. Turned out to be exactly what I was looking for.

A nice place to spend an hour and learn about the history and geography of the area, but not a destination in its own right.

Skiing displays as well as other items of the Mt. Hood area. Small building but interesting. The staff is friendly.
