We did this hike on a very foggy day. The trailhead is right on the side of Highway 26. It came up quick, so we actually had to u-turn but there is a jersey wall divider so we had to u-turn again to get back to it. We were able to park next to the trailhead, but parking is minimal... More

Was lucky enough to show up the morning after it snowed. Mount Hood was only partly obscured by clouds which is a monumental achievement in the middle of November, and it reflected beautifully off of Mirror Lake. This is an easy hike that is all uphill on the way to the lake. Great for families, people of all ages and... More

Mirror Lake has a accessible trail suitable for most around the entire circumference of this gorgeous lake. Rumored that the legendary Big Foot has been seen by locals in this area. Take your camera, shoot some photos of this lake and beautiful trial then on your way back enjoy lunch on their picnic tables. All in all A great day.

Easy hike for some wonderful views of Mt Hood especially on a sunny day. This is a 3 mi. loop that takes you around the lake. There is a bit of elevation on the way up but levels off at the lake. Worth the little bit of exertion.

Highway 26 to Mirror lake to Tom, Dick and Harry peak is an excellent day hike for views of Mt. Hood. Trail starts from highway with limited parking. Trail pass from National Forest Service is required, it can be purchased at many retail locations in Portland and Mt. Hood area. Trail starts off in dark forest with gradual steady rise,... More

This hike trailhead is in the process of being moved. We had a footbridge entrance. The hike up to the lake is shaded and is a mild rise but is all uphill. There are several switchbacks but they not steep ones. Once you get to the lake there is a path around the lake with several places to walk out... More

As a fit older person, I would say this hike to the lake was not very difficult, however, the real attraction for us was to continue up from the lake. This section of the hike was more taxing and steep, but from the top we could clearly see 5 mountains, and the lake right below us ! It was great... More

Keep your eyes peeled or you may miss the turn off for Mirror Lake. Parking can be limited especially in the morning; I recommend visiting after noon. There is no fee to park, but be sure to display yr park pass. The hike to the lake is about 1.5 miles with a gradual ascent. You don't need to be a... More

You start off fairly easy with a gentle slope and then get to a series of switchbacks that is more difficult. One part appears to been like a landslide of rocks so can be a little tricky with footing. It's about a 1/2 mile loop around the Lake with a trail leading off to another Mountain that is about 3.3... In order to use this trail you must purchase a pass ($5 for day) to display in your car window. A National Parks Senior Pass will also work. Be aware that there is limited parking available at the trail head. When we got there a little after 9AM, the parking at the trail head was completely full, but there was... More
