We booked an all day ride that took us up to a high mountain lake. The staff were a bit disorganized while we were loading up, and there was some miscommunication about what we could pack with us and how, but it all worked out for the best. I can't say that I enjoyed being on a horse for that... More

Eagle Cap Wilderness Pack Station is not safe, competent, or honest. In August of 2016 we hired ECWPS to take our two family’s gear to Ice Lake, the location seen in the backdrop of their website homepage. On our way hiking up to the lake, we passed our packer coming down the trail with our gear. He said the trail... More

For a different way to see the Wallowa Mountains, why not go on the back of a horse? We took the 2-hour ride that went up the West Fork of the Wallowa River. The trail we followed stayed in the trees for the most part so we saw no breathtaking vistas, but we did ride above the roaring river for... More

Well matched horses, very knowledgeable and helpful guide, and the views are to die for. One of the great alpine places in Oregon.

Spent a week in town and did a lot of fun things but the 2 hour ride up the East fork was our family vacation highlight. Our Wrangler Victoria was awesome and the views and trail were incredible. We had 8 of us and argued all day as to who had the best horse. Since I am writing this review... More

We arranged to have our gear packed in by mule and ourselves via horse. Our outfitter recommended a specific high lake (Horseshoe) due to less crowded and not too far in for a ride. The fishing was tremendous, we kind of got tired of trout every meal. 6 miles in relatively flat ground along a river, then 4 switch-back scary... More

If you plan to take a horseback trip this is a great place to start, in particular for long pack trips. You are welcome to ride your own horse (usually) as long as "it play's well with other horses" and doesn't scare anyone by being high strung.

There are excellent access trails into the Eagle Cap Wilderness that are close to Joseph, The higher elevations are still under snow for our March 31 to April 2 visit but the available hiking was very good on well maintained trails.

While planning my Oregon vacation earlier this year, I asked my girlfriend what she wanted to do, and she told me that she wanted to go horseback riding. I'm not a horse person, but every now and then, you have to take one for the team. I did a bunch of research, and the Eagle Cap looked to be about... More

I was there for a ride at 10 and showed up at 9:30 when you came in. I was concerned about the business being for sell too and I asked about it. The property is for sale not the lease. If you had to wait only 5 minutes until you had been fed up. Some rides come back late. I... More
