First time campimg here. Family and pet friendly. Campsites are very nice. Sites on the right side are better suited for smaller trailers, campers or tents and harder to back into. I would recommend choosing sites on the left side of the loops for larger...More

Nice park, very well maintained. Clean and accurate everywhere. It would be even better with sewage hookup (we were in our travel trailer), but still good for what we've got (power+water). Very close to the ocean beach. Dunes are blocking wind from the ocean (wind...More

Nehalem Bay State Park is a great place for family camping with secluded sites near the sand dunes of the beautiful seven mile beach. There's plenty to do here: you can just spend the day on the beach playing bocce ball like we like to...More

This park was just about perfect! I camped there for a couple of nights and enjoyed it immensely. The beach was right behind my campsite, but I was protected from the weather by the dune. There was a great bike trail and a horse trail...More

Well kept campground with friendly & helpful staff but spaces were quite a bit closer than what I prefer. Campsites were visible 270 degrees. Loved the beach access but unfortunately we were there when the pungent Velella Velella (Blue Tide) were littering the beach by...More

Campground was ok, quite. Bathroom needed help. Men's has 1 stall working for all 5 days we were there. Shower and bathrooms were not heated and in the winter/early spring it was cold in there. Hot water was slow. Beach was pretty and sandy. Easy...More

We chose going to the hanlim state park as our first stay with our new trailer because it's so easy to be here. There are full hookups for RVs and trailers and Yurts for those who don't like camping in tents. There's always a campsite...More

The campground was almost full upon our arrival on Thursday afternoon. This is apparently a very popular state park but we didn’t like it because the sites we have passed and the one we occupied offered zero privacy. The loop looked more like a parking...More

Three loops, well maintained sites, friendly/helpful rangers, lots of trees, backs up to dunes, beach access, fire rings and wood for sale.

I stayed with my friend for one night and it was wonderful. The beach is a short walk away from every site. The sites are large and the bathrooms were clean and the showers were warm! All around a wonderful place to stay.

How many people does a Yurt sleep comfortably?

Response from KimberlyOR | Reviewed this property |
In my opinion 5 adults: Bunk bed with twin/queen bottom (2 on bottom, 1 on top) + twin/queen futon/couch (2). Less with larger adults or more with kids. Hope this helps!
I've never used a shower in a state park. Do you have to pay, put in quarters etc? or just free with camping fees? Are they wide open or have enclosures/ doors? Thanks.

Every place I've stayed the shower is included in the camp fees. The showers are usually stalls with doors or curtains. I'm not a public shower person and I have never had a bad experience showering at a campground. The... More

Park is practically bordering town. About 5-8 minutes driving from camp site to the central streets of the town.
