The aging concrete artifacts testify to its Nye Beach's earlier glory as a popular resort area. The broad flat sand beach remains clean and pleasant, but with far fewer visitors these days. Even in July sunbathing requires a jacket! LOL. Great place to take your...More

The Nye Beach area of Newport seems to be going through some tough times right now. Shops are closing but restaurants seem to be doing well. It is an historical and interesting place to stroll through..

The area seems to be slowing down. Several of our regular shops are gone. Several were closed. Not sure what is happening. Windy and rainy day, but it is the coast.

This was a great idea; Nye Beach Historical District — so much potential — poorly promoted. The BEST Breakfast place in Newport (see review) Cafe Stephanie, shops, beach, bars, a BIG Brew Pub, Italian restaurant, Arts Center. In Summer it's probably crowded, in April it's...More

This little area is very nice to walk around. Excellent restaurants for any meal, beach oriented shops, and the beach walk has a memorial for the Vietnam war, and whale skeleton for environmentalists.
