This little lighthouse is easy to access, and full of history. The grounds also have great picnic areas, bathrooms, and easy access to the beach.

The lighthouse is well cared for and the setting is peaceful. Plenty of parking, nice visitor center, viewing park down below where we saw gray whales near the shoreline. Everything you would expect from a lighthouse. Didn't go in but loved the outside.

The museum is very informative. The walk to the lighthouse was nice, ocean was beautiful. We were unable to go inside the lighthouse because there was not enough staffing, so that was a bit disappointing. There were whale watchers outside the lighthouse which was interesting....More

We found this a really neat adventure. You’re able to get up close, and most days inside of the light house, and learn about the history of lighthouses along this coastline. It kept many fisherman safe for many years. There’s a path to hike up...More

Anyone who doesn't take the time to walk the beach and visit this outstanding lighthouse; just wasted their Oregon vacation!.. I had the pleasure of watching the lights come on as the evening fog rolled in across the ocean bay.. OUTSTANDING!

Many of the photos and reviews here are about the wonderful Yaquina Head Lighthouse on the north end of Newport. The Yaquina Bay Lighthouse (a state park), also wonderful, is right in town. The two are quite different. Both are worth a visit.

It says open daily on their web site but it would be hard to believe that it is open in Christmas. It appears it would be open during the rest of break.
