The Flying Dutchman Winery enjoys one of the most picturesque settings on the Oregon coast. Here, in the cool salt air, we crush and cajole premium grapes into fine wines. Our wines are carefully handcrafted in small lots, aged in oak and hand bottled. Judges and customers agree that our salt air fermentation makes Flying Dutchman red wines truly unique.

We happened onto this unique winery while taking a walk from our Inn to Otter Rock. Flying Dutchman is a family owned Boutique Winery that sits on a cliff high above the Pacific Ocean and has earned a reputation for producing wines of distinction. Some of their wines have won Gold Medals. The red wines are smooth and velvety with... More

Stayed at the Crest at Otter Rock and visited the winery for a tasting. Incredible wines, great tasting area and other than the cheap tchotchkes a really intriguing place. The owners are responsive to any problem as I learned when a bottle of wine I purchased had a bad cork and had turned to vinegar. They responded immediately and have... More

This is a rare operating winery on the coast. Tasting room staff friendly and there is a great looping video of the vineyards (*not* at the coast) and process of wine making. The wines were ok, nothing awful but not super great imo - maybe the grapes get worn out riding out to the coast :) If you like wine... More

Excellent wine! Off the beaten path but with the hunt. Get a bottle of wine and have a picnic out back of the winery!

Had lunch at Mo's West which by the way was great, then walked the park like area at the Devils Punch bowl, which was very cool, then decided to stop in at The Flying Dutchman Winery. The individual behind the counter never greeted any guest that walked in including us, had nothing to say about their wines, didn't even ask... More

Wines were good but atmosphere was not welcoming. We drove an hour just to get to this spot and would have loved to enjoy it and linger , however the gentleman who was pouring the wine didn't say more than 5 words to us. Didn't share anything about the wines or the winemaker. Wasn't friendly with anyone who came in.... More

Not a true winery in the sense that the Flying Dutchman wines are created by adding concentrated juice to already existing wines and then re -bottled. When asked about his wine (Coastal Blackberry) he becomes rude and curt. Trying to be pleasant and wanting wine for a picnic lunch.. we bought a bottle and the guy never became more pleasant.

The Flying Dutchman Winery is a fabulous way to spend part of an afternoon on the beautiful Oregon coast. This cute little shop has a wide variety of wines to taste at a great rate. There is a place out in the back to take some wine, cheese and crackers while watching the waves crash on the shore below. The... More
