Just a beautiful place to hike and get away from the city. Also, there's the zoo; vast hiking trails for jogging, hiking or nature-observing; children's play park; the relaxing Japanese garden; tennis courts, and the rose garden. The kids can have hot dogs, too.

The park is home to the Oregon Zoo, Children's Museum, World Forestry Center, Japanese Garden, Hoyt Arboretum, and more. A beautiful park in the middle of the city, especially the trails around the arboretum. Get a trail guide at the arboretum's visitor center. The trails thru the arboretum are well marked: each trail focusing on a different species/theme: walnut trail,... More

This park offered a bit of everything within easy walking distance of our accommodations. I especially enjoyed walking on the nature trails and the rose garden.

We made it to Washington Park. However, the Japanese garden was closed for refurbishment and the roses weren't blooming. The park itself is absolutely beautiful. The Arboretum provides miles of hiking trails and appears to be dog friendly. We hiked for a few hours and really enjoyed it.

Took a three mile walk around Washington park on my last visit to Portland. Park was easy to get to as you can take the MAX redline directly to the park. The trails are marked and easy to follow. The trails are well maintained and lined with trees and flowers. Many are labeled and they have educational signs and benches... More

Absolutely beautiful!! Took the bus to this park not knowing exactly how big it was. I was not ready for a hike but I'm so happy I made the trip. Trails are very easy to walk on and everything is clearly marked. It's green everywhere! So calm and just a beautiful place to visit.

I always go to Washington Park while visiting Portland. There are multiple attractions: the Rose Garden, the Japanese Garden, and nearby Hoyt Arboretum. The park is a very convenient drive from the downtown area and the surrounding area is beautiful, with many attractive private homes. The park is up high with a gorgeous view of downtown Portland and Mt. Hood

Washington Park offers so many great options! Bring your bow and arrow and enjoy their archery range, visit the Children's Museum, or just wander around the endless trails. Love it.
