Nice Venue

I agree with others in that there's not a lot of places to sit. I'm not getting any younger so needing a seat was vital. It is a great place to have a concert though. The sound is... read more

We travelled to Portland to see the new years show by Brandi Carlile who always seems to pick cool venues and this is no exception. My biggest complaint is that the stage is too low, and while I'm 5'11" and didnt really have too much of a problem, my wife is 5'4" and couldnt see the stage for the majority... More

A group of us from several different states decided to get together for the Brandi Carlisle concert on New Year's Eve at the Crystal Ballroom. General admission tickets were all that were available at about $90 a piece. Not a problem, or so we thought. Doors were to open at 8 PM, we were told. Of course, Dec 31st in... More

We went for the 80's Video Dance attack which is a dance they regularly have were you come in your 80s regalia and dance ! It was so much fun. We got there early and found free parking about a block away. We ate at Ringlers before hand. The building is really neat the dance floor is springy and fun.... More

I agree with others in that there's not a lot of places to sit. I'm not getting any younger so needing a seat was vital. It is a great place to have a concert though. The sound is great and the venue is just cool. If I go again, I'll have to make sure I can sit down somewhere!

Went to a concert (Explosions in the Sky) on labor day weekend. Had a wonderful time and thought the venue was great, at least from the front row. There are a few caveats though. 1) Parking downtown is a nightmare. My wife and I solved this by coming down 90 minutes before doors opened to pick up a street parking... More

Yes, all the great mid-size and bigger bands play here but note - very few places to sit - balcony is 21 and older And fills up as soon as doors open So arrive early and queue up - benches along sides are good seating Grab them early and keep them. I've stood on them many time for great viewing... More

This site was built in 1914 as the Cotillion Hall as a dance ballroom & was closed during the 1920's in the short-lived persecution of Jazz & related risqué dancing that occurred during that era. Montrose Ringler was the original owner, & the adjoining restaurant, which can be accessed by stage staff through a side door, is his namesake. The... More

I loved this venue. Lots of stairs so be prepared for that but a huge space and a lifted bar upstairs with extra seating.

I attended a concert at the ballroom while visiting my brother. The restaurant downstairs had really good food and a cool atmosphere and plenty of drinks. The venue is cool for a concert but it's best to get in early and pick your place and it's pretty much a standing venue. It's an old building and you definitely feel the... More

This venue is an historical location. Has a good bar upstairs to have drinks before the show starts, a fair sized drinking section and good acoustics. The venue is smaller but has ample room to dance or rock out. Still a size that feels intimate enough for a good rock show. The "floating" floor was amazing and the whole place... More
