Sure, digital selection outweighs the contents of Powell's... But: - The sights are worth it - The smells are worth it - The slow, meandering through the isles is worth it - The rare books section was worth it My only sadness? Wish there were...More

If you are a reader - go with a plan. It is so easy to get lost in the shelves for hours. I found something to read in every room! This is my second time. Wish I could go more frequently.

I admit i order a lot from Amazon. But the joy of getting lost in aisles of books is inexplicable. If you love books, do find some time to visit this store in Portland :)

This must be one of the biggest book stores I have ever been in and so interesting. I liked the second hand book price sections and also the rare book room. Lots to see here and easy to spend a good hour just browsing.

Tons of books new and used. Great selection. Better to go on a weekday because this place gets jammed packed on the weekend.

They have a parking lot! I also usually find parking on the street a couple blocks to the west. And, I often combine Powell's with a stop at Whole Foods, so I park at Whole Foods, go to Powell's, come back to WF and buy what... More
