We walked by late and it was a pretty boring park, full of homeless people. I mean it felt safe, but it's just not the best city park, especially in Portland that has some excellent parks to compare against.

I could not believe how many booths there were for the Saturday market - I could have easily spent hours walking through (and spending money!)

We parked on the street at Salmon St and SW 1st Ave, fed the meter and ventured off to the Saturday Market. It was about a 1/2 mile walk along the river from the car to the market. Plenty of people were out in the...More

This park goes along a stretch of the west side of the Willamette River right in the heart of downtown Portland. From March to Christmas Eve there is a Saturday Market right near the Burnside Bridge where craft vendors and food carts come to sell...More

Tom McCall's Park, dotted with homeless and debris in areas when we visited last month, is a cry from what it was when it was developed and named for him in the '80's. Tom McCall initiated and supported some of our country's first beautification and...More

Pretty way to see the Portland bridges. Pretty way to see the Willamette River, too. There were some people on bikes, jogging, walking, and taking pictures. There was a fountain, too.

I also volunteered for the 30th Annual Waterfront Blues Festival, sponsored by Safeway and KOIN-TV Channel 6. Thank you.

We passed one time through this king of park nearby the river but we didn't find it very interesting. Anyway, there were a lot of people doing some jogging.

The park along the river is a great place to go for a stroll, but it does have a large number of homeless people, though these are scattered all around Portland.

The waterfront park which is owned by the city of Portland is free except certain events. Even during events, one can still access to the park itself without any charge.
