While not the largest museum in the US, visiting the Portland Art Museum nicely rounds out a visit that otherwise includes probably too much eating and drinking. Walk to this museum from your hotel downtown and you will not only burn enough calories to offset...More

Well received. I haven't yet reached the right age for senior discount but my partner does yet they gave us both the senior discount, a very nice gesture. It took us 5 hours to visit the whole museum. It is much larger than it appears...More

Visited this museum for a special display of cars in June 2018 and it was worth it. If you are in the Portland area and love cars be sure to go. Very good collection of north western art.

This is a fantastic must do for tourists, but even locals go back regularly as the artists and features, like Laika Studios' exhibit, are so incredibly well done.

The Portland Art Museum was recommended to us. We went with another couple on a Saturday. Our favorite exhibit was of old, unusual cars. The Asian art was interesting, as were the Native American exhibits. All the museum spaces are light and airy. We were...More

This museum is easily worth a couple hours of exploring, perhaps half a day if the special exhibits suit you. It had a nice collection of paintings by European masters like Sisley, Renoir, Monet and Cezanne. Some of the displayed metal works of art were...More

Relatively small but covering a huge variety in space and time. The sections on art of the Pacific Northwest combined old and new to great effect. Eye-opening. The other two items I found special were a video of a woman playing cello with the echo...More

I have enjoyed a number of special exhibits at the Portland Art Museum; their shows are exceptionally well curated, and presented with a wealth of interpretative material. That said the museum is probably not worth the steep entrance fee for most visitors when there is...More

We were able to park in a lot next to the museum. We were there on a Sunday and there was plenty of parking. $8/24 hours on weekend. There was also street parking, which I recall being metered. After our time in the... More
