Funky, redeveloped warehouse district just outside of downtown. Great mixture of original warehouses that have been (lightly) converted to antique / junk shops and restaurants, along with more gentrified retailers.

Fun shops, people to look at, good eats and nice selection of cheap and expensive to suit anyones wants. Paper Source is the bomb!

A nice place for a stroll and sight seeing. The streets are quaint and offers a range of products from food to shoes and apparels. A must visit place when one is in Portland city centre.

The pearl district features many cafes, galleries and breweries, so it's a great place for a stroll when visiting Portland. Be sure to check out Powell's books and Deschutes Brewery if it your first time in town.

This is a very fun and active area. Lots of cute shops and fun restraunts and bars in the area. Would recommend spending at least one evening here

Good shops, restaurants, a few parks, interesting buildings, walking friendly - if you don't know what to do in Portland and where to start - go to that place - can't go wrong!

Having grown up in Portland, the Pearl district upgrade is a welcome sight. In the late 90's this was one of the most unsightly and dangerous areas of Portland in general not just downtown. Now it feels very safe to walk in day and night...More

We walked around the Pearl District on a rainy/cloudy weekend. We had great fun! Went to the Saturday Market on Sunday! Walked to the water. Went to several shops. Great restaurants. Wonderful Hotel! The people we rant into were extremely nice.

Our first stop in the Pearl District was Powell's Books, an amazingly large bookstore. We then went to Deschute's Brewery for lunch and walked around the area. Plenty more places to eat, drink, and shop.

Portland is catching up with Seattle when it comes to artisanal house-roasted coffee, and you'll find a number of great spots, along with hip restaurants. Plus Powell's Books, the best indie book store in the world. Check out made-in-Portland artisanal objects from leather backpacks and...More

I enjoy staying in the Pearl district where it's easily accessible to the freeway and (walking) downtown. I like that the Pearl is a beautiful neighborhood where it's safe and clean and has a lot of cool shops and eateries... More

Light rail worked like a champ for us. Off the plane, walked to the platform and headed downtown. Couldn't have been easier.

There are several things to do there. We were traveling through Portland on our way to Seattle and stayed there for two days only. You only need two to three days to get your fill. I would recommend: 1. Pittock... More
