The monument has a brief summary of the events of the Holocaust and some memorable quotations on one side. The other side shows the names of people with the family members they lost during the Holocaust. Unfortunately, the site is not well-designed for those with...More

I didn't know there was a Holocaust memorial here. Found by accident. Learned a lot. Well represented with little bronzes of things people would have lost: a suitcase, a pair of glasses, a violin, a doll, a stuffed animal. Made it more human.

This is a beautiful tribute to Holocaust victims & survivors. I will say we were approached by a somewhat aggressive homeless woman while visiting and it made us uneasy. She was screaming vulgarities at the monument after we refused to give her a cigarette that...More

"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it". Definitely worth a visit... while you're at Washington Park there are plenty of other things to do as well, so this can easily be added to an itinerary while visiting the park.

To combat the national fervor of the 4th, we stopped in at the Holocaust Memorial around 8:00 during the summer. It was still light out, but the sun was quickly setting. It was difficult in such lighting to read the poignant quotes on the "inside"...More

Parking The parking for this area is located just passed the memorial. It is a credit card machine (no cash) and shouldn’t cost more than $1 for the time you are looking at the memorial. Accessibility This memorial is access to wheelchairs, if you use...More

This is a small park, secluded among trees, that includes a memorial to those who died in the Holocaust. There are thoughtful art pieces representing those who died such as toys, a battered suitcase and a violin. There is an explanation of what happened during...More

Being Jewish myself I love to visit memorial sites that have to do with the holocaust and this memorial was beautifully kept and had great artifacts and quotes as well as a rock that states underneath was the soil and ashes from the people killed...More

Quite a serene area, but then you see the art pieces...the doll on the bench; the book, the teddy bear, and suitcase on the walkway. Take some time to read the memorial information, and don't neglect to walk around the back to see the names...More

This memorial is smaller than I thougth. It is basically a wall with a summary of the war and some phrases of the people who were there. It is nice to visit, but not required!
