A nice and easy place to brows. Located in the center of town and easy to find. It's also a good place to find free internet.

What a hidden gem in downtown Portland. This library is gorgeous! You enter and immediately see a winding staircase with a repurposed card catalog sitting at the base. The fiction books are in the room to the left and the Beverly Clearly Children's Room is...More

I stopped by the library on the way to saturday market because I needed WiFi. Not only the building but also the inside is so impressive. Although the library shop is small, I could find special souvenir for myself.

Well stocked and superbly curated collections with librarians eager to help you find just what you're looking for. Many branches, but hours can be tricky - so check before going.

Can't reveal too much as I am still ashamed that I owe them pennies in late fees. Ah well, I paid them back with copies of my magazine articles. So please visit for the experience beyond, in my opinion, an institution ranked higher than the...More

Didn't even know it was there! Found it by reading the name of authors on the benches outside on the sidewalk. Huge! Great genealogy section.

We stopped in to see the gift shop and use the restroom - nice looking library, don't be surprised at the number of 'campers' that are lurking around. It's all part of the Portland experience, I don't know if they are born here or come...More
