Beautiful Bridge

There is a park under the bridge that is a great place to see the bridge. If you are not a driver you can take pictures as you approach it. Its a thin road so drive carefully.

My family has great stories watching this bridge being built. It is a very beautiful bridge my favorite in town!

I have the joy of commuting over this bridge a few times a month, and aside from the striking aesthetics the view is amazing. Plus you have the wonderful cathedral park below. Stunning.

i am sure when the big earthquake comes, this bridge won't be there any more... but for now, ride a bike or drive over it. on the north side there is a park under the arches of columns (hence called Cathedral Park) where you can stroll, see the river, look up at the bridge.

Whether from the road top or at Cathedral Park underneath this is a wonderful oasis for photography, walking, and other recreation. There's a fishing dock that is popular and a boat ramp, so plenty of water enthusiasts about.

St. John's Bridge is an example of both beautiful and functional 20th-century architecture. Find parking under the bridge on the east side of the river and take a walk across the bridge; there are spectacular views, and on a clear day, you can see the four neighboring mountains including St. Helens and Hood. After you cross back, linger awhile under... More

I'm so grateful I live closest to this bridge. It's very pretty and on the other side of it you get to go hike for hours in Forest Park. Someday I'd like to walk or bike across it too. Right now I've only seen in dozens of times by car.

Stayed in St John's (Airbnb) when we first came to Portland while looking for a house so got to cross the bridge all the time, it's lovely and I enjoyed it every time, one of the reasons I love Portland!

The bridge allowed me to cross the river and get where i needed to go, so as far as bridges go it was great. Where i had to get to had great views as well of the bridge so that was an added bonus.

I'm always afraid this bridge is gonna fall down someday because it is so old, but it hasn't yet. Good luck.
