Beautiful place with many farms where you can pick your own produce from the trees and bushes. But you don't have to do that you can go to the markets where the produce is there. There's organic treasures everywhere. You can also buys trees and bushes. We like to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy it at a picnic area... More

My Wife and I went on the Raptor Road Trip (02/04/2017). The day was a bit damp and plenty breezy but it wan plenty of fun. The areas had Coffee and donuts and the sites were nicely placed. We took the opportunity to explore the island to both ends of the road. I look forward to next year.

I come out here, from my nearby Portland home, and find privacy and a beautiful place to contemplate nature. Have found cranes, egrets, geese, eagles, osprey in abundance. Mountains, oak trees and old structures add to the views. Some areas have seasonal access and a parking pass is required (stores on the island have the passes).

All the local farms are worth the price alone. You can strawberry, blueberries or peaches. You can bike the island or fish or hunt. Each section of this place has its own unique character.

Fun to get out to Sauvie Island and roam around. Lots of things to see. Enjoy it while you can. It is getting more and more closed up.

To get organic produce and stumbled onto the wildlife area. Nice to picnic, nice little beaches. Clean well kept, Busy at time with cyclists and families. Really the best beach for little ones, little muddy, but the water is shallow and calm..

This is a big island on The Columbia River that has many places to explore. The beaches on the river are a favorite place for locals to go to when the weather gets hot. There is a clothing optional beach here on the west end of the island on the river.

This palce has it all. You can drive around the island in a short amount of time or spend the day biking on all the roads. Summer adn fall brings fresh produce markets with plenty of local produce to choose from. This is a popular place for pumpkins. Perigrine falcons nest on special platforms by the power line poles which... More
