Possible better than the test garden

There is parking, and full park and the stunningly beautiful displays of arranged rose bushes and other plants and trees. Well worth a visit.

If you are not in shape, recommend taking public transportation. I hiked from the Convention Center to the Rose Garden on a lovely day. Such beautiful roses and the view of Mt. Hood. Remarkable!

This rose garden is the original rose test garden in Portland, before the Rose garden current location in Washington Park. Although the current location can't be beat for beauty in a large, scenic park (many Portland postcard pics taken here). The Peninsula Park location still retains the old neighborhood feel. Yes, the park is viewed by many to be unsafe... More

Lovely rose garden in a very accessible and easy to find place. This was the first of the rose gardens in Portland and many would argue that it's still the best. Great fountain in the middle that kids love to stick their toes into. Great place to visit if you love gardens and flowers.

This park area is great to stroll around and literally take time to "smell the roses". It's up on a hill just outside of the city, so on a clear day, the views are great. The Japanese Gardens are just across the street - also a great stop when in the area!!

Peninsula Park has the largest rose garden other than the Portland test gardens. Paths allow you to stroll and admire the drifts of color. It's a sunken garden so the perfume is intense on a sunny day. Beautiful fountain, old gazebo. And on the other side, an extensive playground for the children. What a lovely park!

The rose garden was beautiful. There is a lot of walking and a lot of stairs to manage, so wear comfortable shoes. They have a wonderful variety of roses and other plants and flowers as well. The view of the city from the top terrace is great. There is a an open air amphitheater that looks like a great place... More
