Oregon's oldest estate winery and European Distillery. Our family invites you to experience our new world wines made using old world traditions. All of our artisan wines are crafted using grapes from dry farmed, old vine, hillside vineyards. This follows into the cellar where we use extended barrel ageing and fermentation of our reds in patented concrete fermentors. Oregon's most natural and traditionally made wines. Starting 2011 we will be introducing our French inspired fruit Eaux de Vies from Cherries, Apricot, Pear and wine grapes. FROMMERS- Best wines in Southern Oregon. Not sold in stores. Mention this ad for complementary tasting. Tasting Daily 11-5 March-Dec To the Genie in the bottle!

Quaint little winery...the oldest in Oregon. The atmosphere and sights are breathtaking and the attention given by Jennifer, their Tasting Manager makes the difference. She walked us through their wine lineup and showed us around the property. I have been enjoying our tour of Umpqua Valley wineries, but this one was the first one I actually liked every single wine... More

Hillcrest is the oldest estate winery in Oregon, and started the "Oregon Pinot Noir revolution." For anyone with an interest in and taste for Oregon Pinots, this is a MUST VISIT winery! Nothing fancy or flashy, just rustic, out of the way up a hill, and outstanding wines. Hillcrest uses some old European winemaking techniques, which must be part of... More

Thank you for your kind words and taking the time to share your experience at our family's winery. We love to share our old world approach of handmade, natural wines that speak to their origin. This is something we have learned over the last several decades making wine here in Oregon and other locations around the world. Thank you once... More

We stopped in at Hillcrest due to its being the very first winery in Oregon to plant Pinot Noir grapes. Indeed, there is an historic marker at the property's entrance. However, the original owner has long since moved on and the current offering of wines is disappointing . In fact, the best we tasted was a Riesling made in Germany.... More

Thank you for taking the time to post your review Gary. Our family works hard to produce wines, using our 4 decades of winemaking in Napa, Europe and South America, that are defined by the terroir they are grown in. We craft wines using the best of old world techniques including dry farming, patented concrete fermenters and natural winemaking techniques... More

Truly international winemakers; their Riesling is actually made in Germany. Every wine poured was good; I just couldn't buy them all. Small tasting room, but that is part of the charm.. The winery dog is a plus.

I went in to Hillcrest after doing some research and knowing they have been around long before wineries became popular. They also were the first to make pinot noir. It could have been a "snooty" place, but the husband and wife team that make the wine and run the tasting room, were anything but. I spent an hour and a... More

Thank you for your support, kind words and taking the extra effort to research wineries in the area and selecting our family's. My wife and I consider it an honor to have taken over the most historically significant winery in the Pacific North West from the "Father of Oregon Wine" Richard Sommer. As you know we have worked not only... More

Dyson is the epitome of passionate winemaking. His expertise is evident in his diverse wines from many wine regions of the world - Spain, Italy, Germany, and others.
