We joined a group and took 2 tours of the state Capitol - the first was right up to the top of the tower. There's over a 100 steps up a narrow spiral stairway, but what a view at the top. The building is art...More

I've been to the top several times and its gorgeous. Outside the capital is perfect for a picnic, and on a hot day let the kids run wild in the fountains in the front!

Friendly staff and volunteers. On odd numbered years from February to June/July, Oregon's State Capital is a behave of activity with the Legislature in session. Sign up for a tour, watch a committe hearing or a vote in the House or the Senate. Perhaps even...More

122 steps to the top... make sure your little ones can make it, it's harder coming down than climbing up!😁 Awesome views, cool history, and beautiful parks/grounds to explore make this a fun way to spend the afternoon!

Be sure to enjoy a relaxing springtime stroll through the picturesque mall to catch the cherry blossoms at their peak. Any time of year is nice, really. Catch the fountains and splash-pad on the hot days. :-)

There is metered parking on the north, south and west sides of the capitol. It's a little hard to find when legislators at in session.

The rest room on the main floor is open when the building is open. Generally it's closed on the weekends. The closest otherwise is McDonalds.
