Definitely bring your hiking boots and waterproof gear for our NW weather. This trail is rated as moderate (by experts). We (2 adults -+ 2 kids) parked and launched from Southern Seaside - made it about a mile through rocky and puddled terrain (approx 750 feet elevation) before turning back. Also would be beneficial to pack a lunch/snack if you... More

The scenery is so incredibly beautiful along the Oregon coast, this is just a small sample of what you will see starting in Astoria all the way down Hwy 101. We had overcast skies on the day we were there, but still managed to get lots of great shots. Highly recommended...D'

I set out on the solo hike with very little information about distances. I knew it had a good climb. It was a rainy misty weekday and I only saw two groups of hikers. Since I was not sure of distances and I was by myself i just hiked in two hours and came back. When I turned around I... More

This hike is not for the feint of heart! It is in one of the prettiest parks in Oregon. So worth the drive, but go on a sunny day. It is at the end of a long winding road and can be scary in the rain. The hike from the Ecola State Park side is straight up hill and an... More

I only went part way up, but the trees and flowers were so beautiful! I saw ferns of all different ages. The soil made my feet feel like they were walking on cushions. It was great to know that the forest has recovered from the "6 year jinx".

Gorgeous old growth rain forrest. Stunning views near the top that overlooked the ocean. 20 of us on the hike, including 10 grandchildren.

There are two access points for this hike. I started at Indian Beach in Ecola State park. You must pay a $5day use fee. The parking lot was hopping...on a summer weekend, I could see it could get completely full, but on this Monday afternoon, I was able to park. The beach is fantastic, and quite popular with surfers. Hike... More

Shaded hiking trail, quiet & serene in the mornings. We camped in the log cabin and hiked down to the beach in the morning.

My husband and I hiked this trail and enjoyed the 1st leg from the lower parking lot (to the left just after passing the pay station). You have forest and amazing ocean views overlooking rocks and the abandoned Tillamook Lighthouse. We loved this trail! You arrive at the Indian Beach parking lot after 1.5 miles of hiking. You can stop... More
