Finding the Cape Meares Lighthouse site is a challenge, now that an important northern section of the once-circular loop road has been closed to traffic. The site is accessible now only from the south, requiring a poorly-marked detour on the Three Capes Loop road (after...More

The views are fabulous. There are several different areas where you can stop for the views. Wasn't too impressed with the lighthouse or the tour (ended up leaving the tour while in progress because there was a bad smell). Very narrow stairs. As we were...More

We were driving down the coast and were planning to stop at the lighthouse for sunset pictures. Our map shows a road going around the entire cape and our plan was to drive the loop clockwise from Tillamook. That was a lucky choice because when...More

Beautiful scenery in every direction! We were all so glad that we took the time to visit this wonderful place last week while vacationing at Netarts Bay.

Very lovely location. Plenty of lookouts. Bathrooms available but not next to the lighthouse. The lighthouse tour is okay. Not a whole lot of room to accommodate giving a tour since the lighthouse is so small. Definitely worth a stop if only for the lookout...More

We stayed in Portland and wanted to visit the beach so we decided on visiting this lighthouse. It was easy to find and in a great location. Docent was very knowledgeable.

The entire coast was shrouded in fog the day of our visit, but we took the short loop walk down to the lighthouse where we had a nice view of the rocky coastline.

If you go to Tillamook or Cape Lookout State Park, this a must to see. It's about 10 miles from either but we'll worth the drive. Towards the fall through winter, they are only opened certain days. Ask at the campground and they can tell...More

We got there too late to go inside the lighthouse, but it's beautiful from the outside, and the views of the surrounding ocean and cliffs are gorgeous. It's also a short walk to the octopus tree which was pretty cool.

I'm not sure what times the area opens and closes. In the Winter months I would assume that it would be during daylight hours, probably 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. My wife and I went to Shore Acres State Park last weekend in the... More
