We spent one night in the town of Hood River, and another night at Timberline Lodge, on Mt. Hood. The second night on Mt. Hood was a mistake, which I'll explain in a moment. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to overnight in the area, whether for one night or two nights, or more, not to spend a... More

Rich history everywhere, cozy fires to snuggle up with your loved ones. First class staff and accommodations, you can tell this place is ran very well. My fiance and I spent her birthday here Thursday November 1st we stayed in a fireplace room facing the mountain. The fire place room was so nice because they brought us wood to keep... More

I watched the Shining when I was around 11 years old and it instantly became one of my favorite films of all time. So after we moved to the PNW we decided to go to the Timberline lodge so then we could check off every location of filming except for the studios in London. We've drove the Going to the... More

The staff here was so nice and the place was just beautiful! The view is amazing with the top of Mt. Hood in the back windows! I will absolutely go back!

On a day drive from Sherwood, Oregon, drive to Mt. Hood & found the Timberline lodge. Beautiful old building, built by the WPA in the '30's. Great wood beams, huge fireplace & great views. Take the drive, see Mt. Hood up close.

Visited the Lodge with my wife in late October while visiting the area. The drive up to the lodge was unbelievable and filled with great views. As we got close to the lodge there was snow on the roadside, but the roads were totally clear. The lodge has plenty of parking and is surrounded by gorgeous views and lots of... More

We arrived mid-afternoon so there was parking available even in front of the lodge. Lunch buffet in the main dining room. Cheaper eats in the bar. No fire going but it is only early October. You can take a self guided tour or take in the views out front. Such a gem of a location.

This building still awes me as to the location, construction and absolute craftsmanship. If you wish, you can climb to the summit of Mt. Hood from here, and the views across the valley are incredible! Be prepared though- it can get windy. I hadn't been in a long time and it was amazing!

We stopped here on a tour around Oregon. Had lunch and a tour of the Lodge. Both were great. Views from the Cascade Dining room are to the south...looking towards Mt. Jefferson. I think it's a better view than to Mt. Hood. Buffet was good, especially the desserts. We spent an hour taking a tour from a USFS employee. It... More

We drove up there to see the lodge as we were told it was the hotel used in the opening scene of Shinning. We got to see the lodge and some great views of Mount Hood above treeline. There are numerous places to park and it said it required a fee but we never saw a pay station.
