We took Route 30 West as we left Bedford, and enjoyed the scenery, but had no idea we were going to come to the Shanksville Memorial. It is a very well done tribute to the heroes of Flight 93, but it is absolutely terrifying and heartbreaking to hear some of the passengers' messages to their loved ones, as they realized... More

It was a nice drive with some interesting things on it. Wished that some of the 'attractions' were better marked. Some of the things we didn't even realize we passed.

I drove the Linclon highway from Greensburg PA to Gettysburg PA instead of driving the PA turnpike and glad that I did. I enjoyed the sights and stops along the way on rt 30 it was not a quick drive to Gettysburg but it was fun stopping at the different historical sights along the way.

We live not far from Rte.30/Lincoln Highway, but farther east so I was anxious to see some of the features of the road in Bedford. They were wonderful, especially 'The Coffee Pot" and the art-deco service station. Be sure to stop at the Visitor Center for a brochure which details the Lincoln Highway as well as the covered bridges in... More

Worth heading back to Breezewood and points farther East by using this route as opposed to the turnpike. Bedford proper is a neat place.

See the world that way it was before "super highways" & interstates! When we have the time, we prefer US 30 to I76 (Pa turnpike) or any other modern road! Sane speeds, real-life scenes along the way, & some OLD things to see. Great views from the mountains & really pretty valleys. Farms, SMALL towns, & history. LOVE it! Take... More

A refreshing tour of yesterday. I remember this feeling while on vacations when I was a kid with the family. Only now we have air conditioning if we need it. Beautiful scenery and cool old stuff to see. Very relaxing drive.

This is a lovely road to travel. Bedford is an idyllic community with log cabins, stone houses and rolling hills. The downtown area is charming and a must stop and stroll through.

I was driving home to Ohio from Bedford Springs- tired of the turnpike. Lincoln Highway was a good alternative- some pretty scenery and interesting local color without the tolls. I would do it again if I wasn't pressed for time.
